Our Community
The Woods Homeowners Association (WHOA) is comprised of the owners of over 1,200 properties at The Woods, a diverse community nestled in the mountains of West Virginia’s eastern panhandle.  Homes at The Woods range from rustic weekend cabins set among the trees to contemporary year-round homes on a golf course.  WHOA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, nine homeowners elected by their neighbors to revolving three-year terms.  WHOA staff consists of administrative personnel, licensed water operators, maintenance staff, and a security team.  The staff provide support to the community by performing all administrative tasks required by the Association, ensuring adherence to covenants, maintaining and operating two water plants, maintaining and plowing of 20 miles of roads, maintaining common areas, and providing 24-hour security coverage for the community.
In case of emergency, call 911 first, and then call Security at 304 754-8887.

Deer Feeding Regulation
Posted on Aug 25th, 2015 Comments (0)
A number of homeowners are concerned about the overpopulation of deer within The Woods. One of the concerns was that some homeowners are feeding the deer and did not know that it is illegal to bait or feed deer in Berkeley County. This law is in place in an attempt to control  Chronic Wasting Disease within the West Virginia deer populations.
To read the complete Regulation Summary click here: Chronic Wasting Disease
Several homeowners at the meeting were very concerned because they or their neighbors are suffering with Lyme disease.  Lyme disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected blacklegged ticks (deer ticks). This link provides information about Lyme Disease

Do not feed the deer on your property within The Woods. Not only is it illegal but it is also a health issue.
